Although they may not be as well known as the bands they've influenced, alt-rockers Meat Puppets continue to play the country-tinged, psychedelic rock that their fans crave.

Originally formed as a punk band signed to the legendary SST Records label, over time the Meat Puppets sound developed into a mix of punk rock, country and western and psychedelic rock. Despite a hiatus from 1996 through 1999 and a split between 2002 and 2006, the brotherly duo of Curt and Cris Kirkwood, on guitar and bass respectively, influenced a large part of the '90s grunge scene including bands such as Soundgarden, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. and Nirvana. They are currently touring in support of their 13th album, titled "Lollipop."
