Boasting a distinguished career working with such notable artists such as the infamous Les Claypool, New York trumpeter Steven Bernstein and bassist and singer of the Meters, George Porter Jr., Mike today finds himself working with his current crew of musicians that make up the Mike Dillon Band.
Composed of Carly Meyers on trombone; Cliff Hines on guitar, bass and keyboards; Adam Gertner on drums and Mike Dillon himself taking care of percussion and lead vocals, the band's sound can be on the funky jazz end of the spectrum one minute, punk rock the next minute and anywhere in between the next. It's sound is a joy for the ears in that it has the chill elements of many other quartets, but at the same time brings to the table a unique weirdness to it that separates the sound from anything else. The band is a must-listen for any one trying to find something new in today's music landscape.
