Mount Moriah's subversive blend of rock, country and folk exudes stillness and grace. Their songs draw the listener in with the promise that a deeper wisdom lies somewhere inside.

The band takes its name from a road that winds along the outskirts of their hometown of Chapel Hill, N.C. Near those parts, Mount Moriah's music is well-known and well-loved. And while they have remained relatively unknown elsewhere, their name is increasingly being whispered throughout all corners of the country.

And the songs on Mount Moriah's debut self-titled record whisper back. Come closer, take a deep breath and listen, they seem to say. When you want them to be, these songs are peaceful and simple. But wrapped within the well-hewn cloth of the melody hides depth, tension and beauty that is raw and redemptive. At their essence, Mount Moriah's songs remind us that our quietest, most vulnerable moments are what make us human.
