About this Media...

  • Date Recorded: April 19, 2011
  • Artist / Band: My Molly
  • Hosting Show: Musical Merry-Go-Round
  • Sound: Dan Kinney

The first thing you'll notice about the duo My Molly is the tart, slightly spooky, often fierce vocals. And then the songs kick in.

Featuring two young singers and songwriters, Rebecca Hanneken and Mallory Barnes, My Molly's music dates back to the duo's grade school friendship in St. Louis. After abandoning the name Fishbowl Buttons, Hanneken and Barnes refined their harmonies and songwriting in coffee shops and small Midwestern tours. Their first full-length album is called "Beekeepers," released May 2011 on the Morning Bird Records label.
