Nash Street is that relatively rare thing in bluegrass: a young band with deep roots in the south who understand tradition but focus on original material that shows a pop and country appreciation.

The Starkville, Miss. band released Between Hope and Heartache in 2010, an album that showcases the plaintive vocals of sisters Caroline and Hannah Melby and the accomplished musicianship of Clay Lezon (guitar) and Ben Mathis (guitar). The band's influences include Alison Krauss and Union Station and Nickel Creek, but the group is steadily developing its own identity and following on the bluegrass circuit.
