Everyone has heard stories of bands that drive around essay writers the country performing for the masses. Chicago’s Northbrook Garage has a small problem in that regard. They’re too young to get their driver’s licenses.

Northbrook Garage named itself after a local landmark in the suburbs of the young members' native Chicago. Original band members Levi (Sam Harkey), Delmur (Eric von Holst), and Big E (Eric Doar), all between the ages of 12 and 13, have played blues-based garage rock since grade school. Lead singer LNA (Elenna Sindler) joined the group after they met at a junior high school talent night. Together they effortlessly switch from original rock songs to soul to blues to covers of Bob Dylan without missing a beat. The band members are all multi-instrumentalists and will often take up different duties for each song with no noticeable change in sound. Northbrook Garage won the 2010 Rock the Green contest in Northbrook, Ill. and recently played in the St. Louis area with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and as part of the Beat 'n’ Soul showcase at Off Broadway.
