ON AN ON is not just the name of this moody indie trio from Chicago and Minneapolis; it's also its mission statement.

Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci and Ryne Estwing were bandmates in the now-defunct group Scattered Trees. When that band dissolved, they found themselves not only still wanting to create music together, but also carrying a renewed sense of purpose.

ON AN ON's debut album, "Give In," demonstrates the newness of the band, and also the chemistry and familiarity formed between it's three members during the years they've spent performing together. The songs are fresh and inspired, but also fully-realized. Layered guitar, keys, bass and drums -- both live and electronic -- build textures ranging from somber to explosive, while creative vocal arrangements and production adds further depth and gravity to the songs.

ON AN ON has had little time to make a name for itself, but its beautifully engimatic songs are already doing their part to turn ears.
