Members of Orgone have played together for more than 10 years. Since its self-titled debut in 2002, the band has evolved to include a sharp 3-piece horn section as well as the soulful vocals of Fanny Franklin, who enhances many popular tracks including a smoking cover of George McCrae’s "I Get Lifted."
At the heart of the band is a rhythm section that incorporates African and Brazilian influences along with the traditional soul and funk mix. The group’s most recent release, Cali Fever (2010), showcases both robust instrumentals and Franklin’s powerful vocals. Currently on tour, Orgone brought its move-busting powers to the Pageant, opening for Galactic on March 17, 2011.
