An Ohio native, Patrick Sweany spent his youth playing along to his father's record collection, absorbing the sounds and styles of everything from folk to country to blues and back again. Becoming adept at putting the best of what he'd learned into his own music, Sweany and his soulful vocals soon developed a following among blues and rock guitar greats, such as Jimmy Thackery and Jourma Kaukonen.
Whether he's playing slide blues unaccompanied on his acoustic or rocking out with his power trio -- modeled after Hound Dog Taylor's House Rockers -- Sweany's genre-melding music has something to please every ear. Patrick Sweany stopped by KDHX after the release of his seventh album, "That Old Southern Drag."
