The DBTs are currently touring in support of "Go-Go Boots," an album that essentially presents unreleased songs from sessions for "The Big To-Do," but somehow manages to outstrip that record with a cohesive set of Southern soul, road-ready rock and always true-to-Southern-underclass-life storytelling.
For this Live at KDHX session, Patterson Hood performs with newest Trucker, Jay Gonzalez, tackling three songs from "Go-Go Boots," including an almost-gospel take on "Mercy Buckets," as well as a harrowing, piano-laced version of "Sands of Iwo Jima" from "The Dirty South."
