Radiation City has grown yet again, proving the adage about numbers and strength, and the result is a pensive pop, full of layered voices, reverb and musical sunshine.

Lizzy Ellison and her boyfriend Cameron Spies formed the band in 2010, and the band's first album, "The Hand That Takes You," was issued only on cassette at first. Live show buzz garnered the group a bigger record deal and the album was released nationally in 2011. Randy Bemrose and Matt Rafferty then joined the group with the release of "Cool Nightmare" in 2012.

After the addition of Patti King, who sings and plays a multitude of instruments, the band released "Animals in the Median" earlier this year. The three songs played in this Live at KDHX session are all from the new album and it's easy to see why it is accumulating so many great reviews.

The combination of the vocals is exquisite, and the overall sound is dreamy and lush, like floating in a stream, toes testing the water, on a perfect sunny day.
