About this Media...

  • Date Recorded: January 21, 2011
  • Artist / Band: Rev. Matt
  • Hosting Show: Interstate
  • Sound: Jon Valley

The skateboarding, body-inking, harmonica-wielding, honky-tonking songwriter known as Rev. Matt is doing his part to keep the spirit of acoustic outlaw country alive in St. Louis.

Often armed only with a guitar, and sometimes (as on this Live at KDHX session), backed up by bass and drums, Rev. Matt finds the lonesome, ornery and not-so-mean truth in his original songs. Songs like "Still Fight Left in These Fists" sound like they were tailor made for Waylon Jennings, circa 1973.
