Formed in a St. Louis basement, Roly began the process of developing its identity in 2007. The band is made up of Andrew Cheek (drums and percussion), Eric Post (keys and sound), Drew Freiberger (bass) and Andy Wiedmann (guitar). Together the four-piece collaborates to make reggae with a dropped pace, incorporating dancehall and dub, while drawing on the reclined sounds of lounge as well. This combination can be heard in songs such as "Dubble Wide" and "U City Lions." The band recently performed at the Earth Day Festival at Forest Park and Schlafly Bottleworks this past April.
