Her gazey, baby-powder voice sings straight to your soul, with raw, heart grabbing lyrics. Add in an eclectic array of sandy guitar, billowing upright bass, crying violin, growling piano and the occasional electronic, synthed beats, and Jaffe teases your heart while leaving you wanting more.
The 26-year-old Texas native self-released her debut EP, "Even Born Again," in 2008. The album prompted her to win Best Folk/Acoustic Act, Best Female Vocalist and Best Solo Act at the Dallas Observer Music Awards while also gaining recognition by Rolling Stone Magazine that same year.
In 2009 she signed with Kirtland Records and since then has released three more albums, the most recent being "The Body Wins," which came out in April of this year.
"The Body Wins" sails effortlessly from folk-pop-electronica to melodramatic indie rock, while Jaffe continues to play with our hearts with intimate, poetic vocals that drive the album. In the rooftop party of singer-songwriters, Jaffe is the captivating, seductive blonde in the corner of the room. We can't take our eyes off her, and we can't wait to see what she does next.
