Streaming Audio

Well known for their bombastic live performances and catchy grooves, New York-based funksters Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds hit the sweet spot where blues, funk and soul meet. Arleigh Kincheloe (a.k.a. Sister Sparrow) delivers her vocals with high-energy, gritty soul as if she were Ronnie Spector channeling Janis Joplin. The Dirty Birds propel the rhythm and get the crowd moving with rock solid grooves and a horn section that honors everything brass from Jamaican ska to New Orleans-style jazz and back again.
