Annie Clark grew up in a musical family in Tulsa, worked as a tour manager for Tuck and Patti and studied at the Berklee College of Music. But after joining the Polyphonic Spree and working with Sufjan Stevens, her career took off, culminating in her second album "The Actor," a dense, exhilarating and deeply personal exploration of industrial turmoil and multi-layered orchestral pop. St. Vincent appeared at the Firebird on October 1, 2009.
