Though Bogguss had her biggest hits in the early '90s, including songs like "Outbound Plane," "Letting Go" and a great cover of John Hiatt's "Drive South," she has remained prolific and musically voracious, recording jazz, pop, swing and seasonal material, with an eclectic sonic palette that goes beyond country music. Her latest release is "American Folk Songbook," a collection of affectionate, acoustic takes on songs like "Shady Grove," "Froggy Went A-Courtin'," "All the Pretty Horses," and the Carter Family classic "Wildwood Flower."
