The St. Louis band played this set just days before the release of their EP "World Record" and the sound is tight and enticing. It's easy to see why the band was voted "Best Pop Band" in the city for 2013 and had the most played album on KDHX in 2011. "World Record" itself is doing very well on the KDHX CMJ Top 30.
The band features guitarist and vocalist Seth Porter, drummer Matt Picker, bassist Kevin Schneider and guitarist Andy White and the sound has a touch of Elvis Costello, Ted Leo and maybe some Langhorne Slim. The band has two prior albums, "Modernity" from 2009 and "With a Bang" from 2011, and both are available at local record stores or on the band's Bandcamp site, along with the new EP.
This is music that encourages driving fast with the top down or windows open. And dancing. Just not at the same time, please.
