The Fleshtones formed in 1976 and have had relatively minor success over that time despite having released over 20 albums and 7” records -- not to mention providing the soundtrack to the cult classic horror film I Was A Teenage Zombie. Despite lineup changes over the years, the core of guitarist Keith Streng with the vocals and keyboards of Peter Zaremba has kept the band rolling on while not losing a beat.
Having formed in the New Wave era, the band owes just as much to legendary surf rockers like Link Wray and Dick Dale as they do to punk pioneers like the Ramones. Listening to the Fleshtones is like taking a trip back to the birth of rock & roll in the '50s and '60s, with tributes to groups of that era making their way into the band’s set. The band gets on stage to have a good time, and that honesty translates into raw rock & roll performances.
