About this Media...

  • Date Recorded: October 21, 2010
  • Artist / Band: The Griddle Kids
  • Hosting Show: Bob's Scratchy Records
  • Sound: Jon Valley

Led by Chris Powers, formerly of St. Louis band the 7 Shot Screamers, the Griddle Kids play old timey country blues, with hints of gospel and folk, while tapping into the energy of their punk and rockabilly roots.

Fans of the 7 Shot Screamers will be surprised by the more subdued sound of the Griddle Kids. Chis Powers plays baritone ukulele and harmonica, Bill Newman pumps the bass, Mark Daley shuffles the drums, and all three harmonize with a joyful, folksy noise.
