In the mean-mugging, male-dominated world of hip hop, Seattle duo THEESatisfaction is a breath of fresh air.

Members Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White met in 2008, and they have since become a staple of the Northwest music scene. The two have gained popularity for collaborations with others, including the Seattle collective Shabazz Palaces. On their own, THEESatisfaction has made waves worldwide with its debut album, "awE naturalE," on Sub Pop Records.

Delivering messages of positivity and a be-yourself attitude (the track "QueenS" asks you to "turn off your swag"), "awE naturalE" presents the listener with crafty beats and a smooth, playful harmony between rap (Irons) and song (Harris-White). Strong yet sensitive, THEESatisfaction shows that you don't have to play by the boys' rules to win in the rap game —- all it takes is an original and creative approach, which the two deliver unflinchingly.
