Todd Snider: Live at KDHX by KDHX

Snider goes much deeper than his minor hit "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues" might suggest. He spent the mid-'80s through the early '90s on the club circuit in Memphis; his first album "Songs for the Daily Planet" even bore the name of a club he often played, The Daily Planet. Eventually, he got his demos through to Jimmy Buffett, resulting in a recording contract with Margaritaville Records.

Throughout the remainder of the '90s and 2000s, Snider released a plethora of live and studio albums ranging in styles such as roots rock to alternative country, from sparse guitar and vocals to twangy electric bands. 2008 saw the release of the opinionated EP "Peace Queer," which featured protest and antiwar songs without lacking his sardonic sense of humor. The following year found Snider doing what he does best with irony, dark storytelling and plenty of scathing humor on the album "The Excitement Plan." "Live: The Storyteller," a collection of of live performances, was released in 2011.
