Led by singer and songwriter Andy Cabic, Vetiver is that rare band in indie circles, a collective of musicians who sound like a coherent unit with a vision of what elegant but soulful pop can be. Drawing on influences as diverse as Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan and the Go-Betweens, Vetiver has somehow found its own voice on the 2011 album "The Errant Charm."
For this Live at KDHX session, Cabic and company gave "Wonder Why" and "Right Away" from "The Errant Charm," an intimacy and easy rhythmic roll only hinted at on the lush, precisely crafted album. As a bonus, the band treated us to a boogie-ready cover of "Don't Ease Me In," best known as a song by the Grateful Dead.
