Taking the stage and playing tunes drenched with warm harmonies, the duo didn't have to move but a few steps to have command of the venue. With strong song craft, fine musicianship, and a pleasant stage bantering with the crowd, The Civil Wars staked their claim as the out of town darlings whom the River City folks have come to truly embrace.
Opening the evening were The Staves, a three piece female folk band from London. Behind layers of vocal beauty, ukulele, and acoustic guitar - these gals are only a week into their first trip in the states, and St Louis welcomed them with a standing ovation. Rightfully so, as their set was 45 minutes of sonic goodness.
