Highly respected SoCal string multi-instrumentalist David Lindley appears for a seated show at the Blueberry Hill Duck Room (6504 Delmar).
Door at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m., with a $25 cover (21+ only).
Note: he turned 70 this year; I wouldn't count on many chances to "catch him next time."
Foxy Shazam / Larry and His Flask
Firebird (2706 Olive)
7 p.m. door/8 p.m. start; $15 advance/18 door (+2 20-under; all ages)
A manic, glam-ish hard rock sound from Foxy Shazam (Cincinnati), who have abundant stage energy.
Larry and His Flask (Redmond, Oregon) blend rock, folk and bluegrass with a punk ethos that produces a hellacious stage show -- excellent showmanship.
Note: Larry and His Flash got a van full of instruments ripped off recently; if you're attending, I'm sure they could really use a merch purchase from you.
Wednesday, June 18
The Ready Room (4195 Manchester)
7 p.m. door/8 p.m. start; $20 advance/23 door (+2 20-under; all ages)
Old 97's (Dallas) play a tasty combination of rock, pop and country styles with a rollicking bar band attitude.
There's no indication of an opening act.
Stag Nite at Livery Company (3211 Cherokee) will be very interesting; several solo or duo acts of various styles will perform, and anyone who wishes to can pitch in on percussion with an array of available instruments.
Here's more info if you're interested.
This starts at 9 p.m., with a $5 cover (21+ only).
