As of 8 p.m. last night at Off Broadway there were only a few bodies scattered in the chairs as Joe Kile drifted to the stage. It was a quiet night and Kile's stories echoed just above the click of boot heels and the occasional whisper from the crowd.

As the seats began to fill, Grace Basement's Kevin Buckley kicked off the band's set with a few solo tunes, but was soon joined by the rest of the band. Together they created a funky jam session with a bit of country, playing a few tunes that Buckley insisted were more ditties than songs.

The seats were all spoken for and folks gathered around the outskirts of the bar and back of the room to settle in for Blue Mountain. Cary Hudson and Laurie Stirratt opened with a duo performance and were joined by the patiently waiting drummer after a solid set of solemn country. With the addition of drums, the tempo was kicked up and the folks in the crowd began to sway and stomp a bit more.
