A packed Pageant enjoyed the southern sounds of the Old 97's and the Drive-By Truckers Friday night with both bands playing energetic sets that kept the crowd moving late into the night.

The Old 97's is an alt-country band from Dallas that formed in 1993 and has since released ten albums. Their members include front man Rhett Miller, bassist Murray Hammond, guitarist Ken Bethea and Philip Peeples on drums and back-up vocals.

Drive-By Truckers is a southern rock band originating from Athens, Ga., although the band strongly identifies with Alabama since, two of the members are from the northern part of that state -- Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley. Other current members joining them were David Barbe, Brad Morgan and John Neff.
