The Lost Brothers opened up the show Tuesday night at the Pageant with a charming acoustic set, setting the mood for an emotionally-charged Glen Hansard.

Both bands hail from Ireland. Glen started things off by telling us that he wanted to play to a "tribe" and not an "audience," inviting people to break the rules of a seated show and come to the front. He then performed with his 11-piece band, belting out gut-wrenching lyrics and covering a wide range that included old standards, new songs and unexpected covers, including tunes written by Bob Dylan and Marvin Gaye.
