Grace Potter and the Nocturnals have sold out nine of their last 10 shows, which might lead you to believe that they are on to something. Last night, at the Pageant, St. Louis got a taste of all the hype.

Potter took the stage to the cheers and applause of an eager crowd. She opened the show with "Paris," setting the tone for the night. Unlike past shows I have shot, last night Potter spent more time at the front of the stage instead of hidden behind her keyboard. The new stage routine gave a greater view into her personality. Writhing and grinding, flipping her hair from side to side, it was obvious that she was enjoying the show just as much as the crowd. Potter continually encouraged crowd participation waving her microphone above the crowd, begging for the enthralled crowd to back up her vocals. Grace's infectious attitude had the crowd eating from the palm of her hand.

Opening for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals was a St. Louis favorite, Langhorne Slim, who did his part to get the crowd up on their feet and dancing to the music.
