St. Louis' own vocal powerhouse, Little Rachel, warmed things up Friday night at the Duck Room before JD McPherson took the stage, bringing his rockabilly soul from Oklahoma.

JD wailed out some sweet, groove-heavy electric guitar licks that stirred the Duck Room into a frenzy of dance and song. This was the second night of his band's tour, and while their fill-in drummer had learned the material only days before, the band sounded as though they've been crafting this energetic music together for years.
