It was hard not to fall in love with Kurt Vile and the Violators' performance, as they played a nearly sold out show at the Firebird on Saturday, August 17.

Providing a good blend of rockabilly and surf music to get the night started, Sonny and the Sunsets opened for Vile. Even the shyest wallflowers tapped their toes through a set that I did not want to end. 

Vile took to the stage shortly after, and provided a perfect mix tape of his songs for the night. Everyone seemed in good spirits, and Vile entranced the audience when he performed two solo songs midway through the set. The show was a definite highlight of the summer, and I'm re-listening to his discography on repeat as a result.
