The Kenneth Brian Band opened at the Pageant for Lucinda Williams, blasting out southern electric rock tunes that are still echoing in my ears.

From Alabama, Kenneth Brian delivers with a vengeance and takes no prisoners. The band's message was heard loud and clear.

Lucinda Williams strolled out on stage after being introduced by Beetle Bob as "the Princess of Americana," while dubbing Emmylou Harris as the Queen. Lucinda respectfully accepted the title and got on with the show.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of her first CD release, "Lucinda Williams." The show featured a brilliant collection of songs from the past 25 years, accompanied by great insights into the lyrics and into the musicians who have performed those songs in the past.
