Concert photos: mr. Gnome with Volcanoes at Plush, Wednesday, April 11

Written by Nate Burrell

Cleveland based art rockers, mr. Gnome, came to St Louis and turned up the energy at Plush on Wednesday night.

With Nicole Barille choking her guitar and bending notes to a scream while Sam Meister pounded out thick and complex backing beats, the duo had the crowd pulled to the stage by the end of the first song.  There were fist pumps from the fans. There were chants demanding an encore. And there was rock and roll flooding the room.

Opening the evening and rounding out the bill were two St Louis bands.  Volcanoes packed their 35 minute set with a controlled roar that built a huge wall of sound, while Bear Hive (not pictured) showcased their unique style of pop music.  Both bands were very well received by their hometown crowd.
