Fans of My Morning Jacket did not let the formality of the Peabody Opera House dampen their energy or enthusiasm last night.

The crowd was on its feet the moment the Louisville-based band took the stage. They offered Jim James and company their obvious devotion and undivided attention to the very end. James proved that the admiration was mutual, taking time out to express his love for St. Louis' City Museum and the Arch.

Band of Horses, a band worthy of headlining their own tour, opened the night with an hour long set of songs, both old and new. Led by Ben Bridwell, the band's harmonies -- layered with guitar, bass and pedal steel -- were the perfect opening for the evening.
