Troubadours of alternative country, the Old 97's stomped back into St. Louis on Wednesday with a set that showcased the band as rowdy and sincere.

A packed house at the Ready Room sang along with Rhett Miller and company, who sampled tunes from the band's 20 year catalog. Touring in support of the new album, "Most Messed Up," the group still found room for old fan favorites like "Victoria" and "Murder or a Heart Attack." Miller sneaked in a couple of his solo songs as well, including "Question."

Supporting the Old 97's was Madison King, a Dallas-based country singer with her own honky-tonk swagger. Fans who showed up early got an extra dose of whiskey drinking and failed relationships in a set drawn from her new album, "Onward and Upward."
