Punch Brothers came in strong and left in a whisper Friday night at the Sheldon Concert Hall.

Chris Thile shook and shimmied around stage, taking the lead on many of the songs. The complex arrangements left no room for error, but the band rose to the challenge and the crowd had taken to their feet several times by the end of the night. The band ended with a stunning acoustic encore that highlighted the beautiful acoustics in the 100-year old room.

Anais Mitchell opened the evening with a strong set of her own, charming the crowd and no doubt winning some new fans in the process.

88.1 KDHX welcomed Punch Brothers with Anais Mitchell as part of the Sheldon Sessions series.
