At the CD/LP release party for Sleepy Kitty on Friday, Evan Sult summed it up best: "I think we had some kind of mini-festival going on here tonight!"

The party for the St. Louis duo's new album, "Projection Room," was by night's end a forceful endorsement of the local music scene in the form of a packed house and a myriad of eclectic sounds.

Off Broadway played host to a crowd that seemed to grow with every passing song. As fans danced and jostled, the band seemed to feed off of the energy and the party atmosphere that was created.

Supporting Sleepy Kitty were two local acts Armadillo and Bug Chaser, who got the evening off to a raucous start. Chicago's Bailiff - a band touted by Sult - contributed some soulful pop.

Sleepy Kitty riffed the night to a close with a suite of in-your-face rock tunes.
