What a fine, fine night of rock 'n' roll it was Saturday night at the Pageant. Street Fighting Band pulled out all the stops and played a three-hour marathon of Rolling Stones songs.

More often than not, the folks beside me drowned out Andy Shadburne's vocals. This typically would have bothered me, but there was such a good vibe in the venue that it was simply great to see so many people reveling in the music.

The night came to an end and there was confetti and balloons, and then the band lined up and took their final bow. The crowd dwindled and it took a few friendly reminders from the Pageant staff that it was indeed time to head out. Last night was what shows are all about: Getting out and supporting live music (local musicians, no less) and remembering those who paved the road for what music is today.
