It has been 20 years since the Breeders' "Last Splash" was released and broke into the top 40 -- and yet, judging by the crowd and the band's energy, it was clear that the album has aged well.

Though the band's lineup has changed several times over the years, the lineup at Mercy Lounge in Nashville -- Kim and Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs, Jim MacPherson and Carrie Bradley -- reflected the group that made "Last Splash" the album that it was. Though the set could not help but be steeped in nostalgia, the songs and the band remain strong and ring true today.

Deerhunter, out of Atlanta, was a welcome opener, warming up the crowd with shoegaze and self-described "ambient-punk" sounds.
