The Dillinger Escape Plan roared through St. Louis on Saturday night at the Firebird.

The masters of mathcore were supported by Royal Thunder along with the Faceless. Royal Thunder -- a trio from Atlanta -- sported deep groves and soaring female lead vocals. Hailing from L.A., the Faceless were pure power, trading between two vocalist, and driven by twin guitars above an insatiable rhythm section.

The main attraction, however, was truly worth the wait. Shrouded in fog and blasted with strobes, Dillinger literally tore the Firebird apart in a show that saw ceiling tiles ripped down while fans and the band leaped into the audience. It was anarchy. It was chaos. It was metal.
