Providing a good start to the week, the Heavy made its debut appearance in St. Louis at the Old Rock House.

Opening for the UK band was California's the Silent Comedy, which turned in a high-energy set filled with good beats.

The crowd was restless but quickly found a reason to dance and sing along once the Heavy's frontman Kelvin Swaby took the stage and the band launched into songs from the new album "The Glorious Dead." Not surprisingly an encore was demanded by the crowd; I couldn't help but notice the happiness on all the musicians' faces as they returned to the stage.

Even as the rain continued to fall at the concert's close, fans left with smiles on their faces and hopes of a return visit by both bands soon.
