The Helio Sequence headlined the evening and hammered out a very tight set of their alternative style of rock 'n' roll. The Portland-area band briefly thanked the crowd for attending their first headlining show in St Louis before plugging in, turning it up and dropping heavy-handed rhythms one after another.
Seattle-based hip-hop collective, Shabazz Palaces, was the supporting act and wasted no time laying down infectious beats and fluid rhymes. Using a healthy mix of unique vocal delivery, laptops and various percussive instruments, the duo dug its heels in and claimed its spot on stage, dropping a fine set of hip hop for the many folks in the room.
St. Louis artist, remix man and producer, Adult Fur, opened the evening and set a proper tone with a bag full of slick grooves, sparse lyrics and a few special guest performers.
