Singer-songwriter William Fitzsimmons played at the Gramophone on Thursday night, with Leif Vollebekk opening the show.

Vollebekk, from Montreal and on his first tour of Missouri, opened the show with a diverse solo set of bluesy songs utilizing the guitar, piano and violin.

Fitzsimmons started his set by stepping to the front of the stage and singing without a mic. He was then joined by his band and they covered songs going back to his first recording, through to his newest release, "Lions." Fitzsimmons also kept the crowd entertained between songs with  humorous banter.
