Yonder has maintained a dedicated following over the years, long after many of their jam-band peers have faded. They have rightfully become the workhorses of the jamgrass scene, touring relentlessly year in and year out.
Yonder performed two beautiful sets in one of their favorite venues in the Midwest. A healthy and noticeably comfortable Jeff Austin exchanged lively banter with both his bandmates and the audience, while weaving in and out of bluegrass standards, Yonder originals and occasional covers.
An energetic cover of the Grateful Dead's "Jack-a-Roe" reminded us that this band can carry the bluegrass torch while touching on the history of this genre. As the room provided energy to the band, it gratefully returned the favor all night long.
