The second night of Twangfest 17 was certainly a hit at Blueberry Hill's Duck Room on Thursday night. Featuring a talent-packed, four-band bill, the annual event hosted by KDHX was in full swing.

Joe Pug headlined the show and put on a stellar performance, drenching the crowd with beautiful songs and a subtle charm that helped make it seem as though you were watching a rock 'n' roll show in a friend's living room.

Motel Mirrors (featuring Amy LaVere and John Paul Keith) and Shivering Timbers both did more rocking than rolling, and both bands held it down with superb stylings on the upright bass, backed by beautiful vocals and thick guitar lines.

Scarlet Tanager, from St. Louis, opened the evening and did so in fine fashion, with a set that was chock-full of hand-clapping, indie-pop sing-alongs.
