The third evening of Twangfest 17 ushered in the weekend at Blueberry Hill's Duck Room, with a three-band bill ready to liven up the venue floor.

Half Knots, a community of St. Louis musicians with ties to previous acts (Nadine, Wagon), started off the evening with a lush set to welcome in Twangfest attendees.

Eilen Jewell kicked up the tempo and generated impromptu dancing from those enjoying her feisty honky-tonk. Between her sultry and salty voice and Jerry Miller's blistering guitar solos, the Boise, Idaho native made a bunch of new fans on the floor.

Asleep at the Wheel somehow managed to fit their entire lineup on stage, including the towering lead singer Ray Benson, who received a tremendous reception upon entry. The "Kings of Texas Swing" took the room to another level, rolling through legendary favorites like "Route 66" early on and late into the evening. With over 20 studio albums and nine Grammy Awards, Asleep at the Wheel's appearance in town made for another memorable addition to Twangfest history.
