Twangfest 18 fans were treated to something of a rock n' roll revival on Saturday at Off Broadway.

Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express returned to St. Louis to put on a clinic in rock, replete with thunderous riffs and sing-a-long choruses. Fans stomped and clapped until the band performed an encore that began with a tribute to Chuck Berry, "The King of Rock n Roll" as Prophet called him.

The reunited Dream Syndicate closed out the night with a brash and boisterous set that found the band channeling their younger selves from the early California punk scene.

Opening the show was local act Magnolia Summer, who shared a few licks and melodies with the eager audience.
