The smoothest soul and funk outfit in Nashville, Tenn., DeRobert & the Half-Truths returned with the album "I'm Trying" earlier this year. As evidenced by the track "The Dole, Pt. 2," the band is laying down some of the most finely textured and socially conscious music on the soul-revival scene.

From "I'm Trying," out January 14, 2014 on G.E.D Soul Records. DeRobert & the Half-Truths (with the Grips and DJ Hal Greens) perform at the Demo STL on Saturday, March 22.
