From being "Just another band from East LA" to winning Grammies and even playing the White House, Los Lobos has never lost its bite even after an incredible 30 years on the scene. And when they roar through St. Louis this Sunday, February 26th, we want to make sure you're there to experience it.

The media description of Los Lobos' sound ("a blend of roots rock, ethereal psychedelia, hard R&B and blues, Tex-Mex, country, pop rock and traditional Mexican music") is a long walk to a short conclusion: these fellas kick ass. In fact, the music traditions of Los Lobos are so popular right now that some kids are on a bizarre Tuba stealing spree just to experience it. That's hardcore.

On their first new album of original material in four years ("Tin Can Trust" on Shout! Factory Records), vocalist/multi-instrumentalist David Hidalgo says "What I liked about making this album was the spirit of it: nobody said no to anything. If you had an idea, OK, try it. Just go for it and see where we end up."

Which brings us to our contest: in the spirit of Los Lobos getting into the spirit, and keeping in tune with their mythic, animal moniker we'd like you to tell us what your Spirit Animal is, and why! We're sending two (2) winners to the show with a pair of tickets each!

Maybe you're like this Emperor Tamarin monkey: rare, mustachioed, good-humored and hilarious to look at. Seriously. This monkey should be wearing a monacle.

But whatever animal you feel in tune with, let us know in the comments section below. If you want to attach a picture, go nuts. Pictures are fun.

THE SIMPLE RULES!

1. PLEASE give us some way to contact you in the Disqus comments field. Can't say this enough. There are a few easy ways to do this. You can click "Login" to Disqus near the comment field and login via any of the options (Facebook, Google, etc.). Alternately, leave your email address in your comment in an "Joe Blow AT email.com" format if you'd like (to avoid evil spam crawling internet bots).

2. This contest runs from now until Friday 24th at 4 pm. Winners will be contacted via Disqus or a provided email shortly after.

3. Enter as much as you'd like, but only one of your answers will be eligible.

Have fun, and we'll see you right back here on Friday with the winners, which you'll hear about first (as always) on the KDHX Facebook and Twitter pages!
