Next week, an IndieGoGo campaign will launch to crowd-fund an initiative to double the buying power of SNAP users at local farmers markets. Here to tell us about it are Brian DeSmet, Market Master for the Schlafly Farmers Market in Maplewood, and Aaron McMullin, Americorp Vista volunteer with the St. Louis University Department of Dietetics and Nutrition. The Indiegogo campaign runs from July 14 to August 15, and can be a win-win-win for local farmers, local eaters, and the viability of Farmers Markets in general. You can follow Schlafly Farmers Market on Twitter for updates on the campaign.
